The beauty about gaming is that you can do it ANYWHERE. And while video games are awesome, our favorite types of games happen outdoors. Because honestly, there is nothing like running as fast as you can to tackle a superhero, or building a human pyramid with your team to earn points. In fact, we are such outdoor gaming enthusiasts, that a few months ago we designed a Roadtrip Game to encourage folks to play in dirt... in sand... in water... and with sunscreen.
Which is why we are so excited that our friends at Outdoor Nation are doing the same thing! They organize national summits for people between the age of 16 - 28 to attend (for free!) and brainstorm innovative ways to get young people outside.
So if you are (or if you know) an outdoor enthusiast between the ages of 16 - 28, check out the Outdoor Nation Summits. Each two-day Summit will bring together leaders from the Millennial generation to identify important outdoor issues, brainstorm strategies to overcome barriers and commit to taking action together. You can receive training from top experts, on topics like community organizing, media relations and fundraising. Best of all, OutdoorNation will fund the top ideas - investing up to $100,000 in on-the-ground projects. How cool is that????
As an added bonus, they are looking for aspiring young journalists to become iReporters at the summit. If you are chosen, they will give you an all-expense paid trip to a summit, and a free iPad (that you can keep) to report LIVE from the front lines.
